BDSM for $200 Alex

This page is an ongoing work in progress to help explain some of the lingo that is commonly used through various kink communities and in my writing.

Relationships & Roles
D/s: Dominant/submissive

D/lg: Daddy/little girl or Daddy/girl

M/s: Master/slave

O/p: Owner/property

PE: Power Exchange

TPE: Total Power Exchange

CNC: Consensual Non Consent

DD: Daddy Dominant

General Terms

BDSM: These letters are a combinations of several things in our culture and these letters equal this… B/D + D/s + S/M. B/D is Bondage/Domination, D/s is Domination/submission, Sadism/masochism. Some people will have other combinations such as S/M meaning to also include Master/slave. These are the general concepts behind this acronym.

C.O.P.: Creepy Old People

SAM: Smart Ass Maschist

SSC: Safe, Safe, Consensual. This term was coined by slave *david stein and somehow became a mantra for the BDSM culture. I am sure whatever you hear that is meant today by SSC is not what *david stein meant it to be when he first wrote the words.

*note: the use of lower case letters when writing about a person who identifies as a /slave or /submissive is a common practice, but not a rule. I just so happen to know that david does use lower case so I am being polite toward his preference when he speaks about himself in written form.

P.R.I.C.K.: Personal Responsibility in Consensual Kink. I think the basic idea of this acronym came about from adults wanting other adults to start taking some responsibility for their choices and to realize that if they are not able to make a clear choice during S&M or “play” to not play! …I am just trying to explain this stuff I didn’t create the acronyms okay 🙂

R.A.C.K.: Risk Aware Consensual Kink. This is the new mantra and I have no idea who came up with it. Make of it what you will. Which leads me to…

TNG: The Next Generation, groups specifically for those aged 18-35.

T.O.G.: The Other Generation, those outside the TNG age range, 35+

YMMV: Your Mileage May Vary.

S&M vs. S&m:
Stand and Model vs. Sadism and masochism

WIITWD: What It Is That We Do. People who got involved in the 1990’s or before came up with this while using IRC, AOL, or the Yahoo chat rooms and board lists. Yes, I am that old… 

DSFDom Sub Friends
LSM: Lesbian Sex Mafia. MAsT: Masters And slaves Together; MAsT Metro NY MAsT Metro NY is a local chapter who is open to all adults 18+ or older interested in consensual power exchange realtionships. It is a community inclusive support group and you do not need to currently be in an M/s, D/s, or power exchange relationship to attend meetings.

NYgoL: New York girls of Leather
